Discover mountains, city & lake in a sporty way
Sports enthusiasts will find countless opportunities to let off steam in Bregenz and the surrounding area. Mountain biking, rafting, bungee jumping, paragliding, water sports and much more.
Bregenz beach and indoor swimming pool
Whether in summer or winter in Bregenz, you can unwind on a day of swimming. Peace and relaxation are just as guaranteed as games, fun and sport for the active. In addition to a sports and multi-purpose pool, the Bregenz lido also offers over 400 m of Lake Constance. From embankment walls to sand and gravel bays to wooden and concrete walkways, everything is there.
Hiking on the local mountain "Pfänder"
The hiking trail to the Pfänder begins just a few minutes away from the Hotel Messmer. Ideal for a hike in the early morning or late evening.
Bike path on Lake Constance
You can go around the whole of Lake Constance on a well-developed network of cycle paths.
From the grand tour around the whole lake (210km) to a small afternoon excursion to Rohrspitz (approx. 35 km), all options are open to you.
With modern bicycles, whether children or city bikes, electric bikes or the latest highlight - the Segways, which you can rent at the lake, you will experience Bregenz from a completely new perspective.
An unforgettable experience for children of all ages.
SUP on Lake Constance
Located directly at the Harder inland basin, training courses and rentals for windsurfing and stand up paddling (SUP) are offered. Canoes and kayaks can also be borrowed. The light winds on Lake Constance are particularly ideal for beginners. The shallow water and the manageable size guarantee safe learning and rapid progress.
Canyoning Team Vorarlberg
Explore the power of water and its course through past millennia, slide and jump into crystal-clear pools, abseil in thundering waterfalls, in short, move in a fascinating natural landscape that remains forever inaccessible on "normal paths".
All of this makes up the fascination of canyoning - plus, of course, a thirst for adventure and a dose of courage, which is demanded of a "gorge" and "gorge" at every turn.
Nothing for going it alone - because rafting is a team sport. And only together can you bring this "raft" to its destination.
Two to three people "dance" with the sporty inflatable canoe. And teams of eight to twelve people fight each other down the river in the big rubber dinghy.
Skiing & hiking on the Bödele
The Bödele hiking and skiing area is located at almost 1200 meters above sea level, about 25 minutes by car from the Hotel Messmer. Numerous skiers, cross-country skiers, ski tourers and winter hikers appreciate the quick accessibility and the wonderful view that one has from Bödele into the Bregenzerwald and the Rhine Valley.
Of course, the Bödele with its beautiful landscape is also a great destination in summer. Numerous leisurely hikes but also for more demanding day tours can be explored here.
Bregenzerwald Golf Park
The spacious square was carefully embedded in the original landscape, which has thus retained its charm. The varied terrain of rolling hills, groups of old trees and small tributaries to the Weissach, which flows through the square, form an impressive natural backdrop at any time of the day and have been integrated into the game in an entertaining way. Artificial lakes and specifically placed bunkers complement the natural obstacles.
