Vaduz in Liechtenstein
The tiny, noble hereditary monarchy of Liechtenstein is blessed with breathtaking scenery as well as a rich and varied culture.
The Principality of Liechtenstein - great diversity on the borders of four countries
With an area of only 160 square kilometres and approximately 37,000 inhabitants, Liechtenstein is much smaller than Germany, Austria or Switzerland. From June onwards the principality's mountain resort of Malbun, in winter an insider tip for ski tourers, winter walkers, ice climbers, cross-country skiers and snow-shoe enthusiasts, transforms itself into a paradise for walkers and mountain bikers.
In Vaduz, within a radius of just a few hundred metres, visitors will find impressive architecture, traditional and modern, art exhibitions, museums, shopping facilities and a variety of sightseeing attractions. A cultural gem, and well worth spending time there. Where else can you find such cultural variety in such a compact area?
